Sacramento, CA — June 30, 2026 — The Reutlinger and Eskaton Land Park have made history as the first senior living communities in the United States to install a Beewise BeeHome — an AI-powered, robotic beehive redefining how we protect honey bees. The initiative reflects Eskaton’s commitment to sustainability, lifelong learning and community stewardship.
Inside the BeeHome
The BeeHome is no ordinary beehive. Powered by AI and robotics, it autonomously monitors colony health, manages temperature, and intervenes to prevent population loss — no traditional beekeeper required. Residents can follow their bees in real time through Beewise’s digital platform, tracking bee population, honey levels, brood health, and pollen stores.
Honey bees face mounting threats from pesticides, habitat loss, disease, and climate change. One in three bites of food we eat depends on their pollination. The BeeHome addresses these pressures head-on, and its impact ripples outward: strengthening community gardens, local ecosystems, and Northern California food systems alike.
